Common summer visitor in Asakawa River basin. During a walk on forest road in early summer, the speciesf monotone po-po po-po voice may be heard. Although similar to Common Cuckoo, Little Cuckoo, Hodgsonfs Hawk-Cuckoo, their voices are quite different from each other and easily recognizable. Like other cuckoos, the species is brood-parasitic, and lays its eggs in other birdfs nests, mainly the nest of Eastern Crowned-Warbler.
