The bird is the symbolic bird of our "Kawasemi-Kai" Society as well as "the bird of Hino City."  A typical bird of limpid stream, the bird is a common resident through a whole year in the Asakawa River.  Long black bill is red on the base of the lower mandible in Female, which distinguishes her from Male whose whole bill is black.
