Straggler to Asakawa River basin, and very rarely seen. With black-tipped erectile crest, pinkish-brown plumage with boldly barred black-and-white wings, the bird is unmistakable. @ Pecking with its long black decurved bill on the ground, Eurasian Hoopoe eats worms of insect. The species is widespread from the middle Eurasian Continent to Africa. It is the national bird of Israel.
