Winter Visitor
A representative yellow bird in Asakawa River basin in winter. Small population breeds in Hokkaido. Our observation records cover the period from latter half of November to April next year. Usually in small flocks in mountainous or lowland forests and dry riverbeds. Our observation records vary greatly from year to year.@ Forages small grass seeds in a flock. A large flock sometimes amounts to several hundreds.
