This species with its trademark orange bill is, together with Tree Sparrow and Turtle-Dove, one of the gmeasurement birdsh to indicate the size of birds. In the order of Eurasian Tree Sparrow (14.5cm), White-cheeked Starling (24cm), Oriental Turtle-Dove (33cm), and Large-billed Crow (56.5cm), the size becomes larger, and available for use to indicate the size of bird; e.g. glarger than Tree Sparrow, but smaller than White-cheeked Starling.h Usually seen in flocks, which at times amount to several hundreds. Looking up the bird with its wings wide open, it looks like a big flying triangle ruler.
