Introduced (Resident)
Introduced species of domestic Rock Dove; descended from the wild Rock Dove as found in Europe and in central Asia; improved for edible use and for carrier pigeon. Abundant in urban districts and public squares, the species are very variable individually in colour and pattern; three phases from light-grey similar to original wild Rock Dove to brownish and darkish colour phases. A V-shaped wing pattern in soaring differs from that of Oriental Turtle-Dove.
